Meeting was called to order at 2:30 pm by President Russ Veenema

Motion to accept and approve minutes of July 8 by Don Flores and Jim Jaqubino, approved by board.

Present were President Russ Veenema, Vice President Ray Ballantyne, Secretary Jim Jaqubino, Treasurer Bill Schless, Handicap Chairman Ron Grant, WA. Golf Representative Don Flores, Team Captain Robert Bourns

Absent was Harry Phillips, Rules Chairman

Guest was Craig Wilson, Men’s Club member

There was a discussion about letting members play from the Silver Tees in all regular weekly events and designated others for the rest of the year.  Weekly events will be coordinated by volunteers.  Event coordinators are Don Flores, Gary Syme, John Landers, Mike Buckland, Robert Mares, Robin Slater and Bill Blacketer and Russ Veenema.

Treasurer Bill Schless reported bank balance of $5853.68 as 0f 7/08/2026.  With deposits of $125.50 from Member Planet and expenses of $350 on 7/16/2026 to CAD Pro Shop (President’s Cup/Trophy), and $500 on 7/25/2026 CAD Pro Shop (Club Championship), and $39.75 on 8/03/2026 to WA Golf (GHIN Mbrs), with ending balance as of 8/08/2026 of $5089.43) with 201 Members paid.

Two members of the Board will be leaving the Board as of September.  Jim Jaqubino and Harry Phillips will be vacating their present positions.  There are a number of interested candidates to be announced and voted on at the annual meeting.  Filling the position of Tournament Chairman for one year is Robin Slater.  Russ Veenema, Bill Schless, Don Flores, Ray Ballantyne, Robert Bourns and Ron Grant will remain to continue in their positions.

The Memorial Scramble and Annual Meeting will be held on September 30^th.  Lunch and meeting will be held in the Special Event Tent after the tournament.  Competition fee is $10.00 with $5.00 kp’s optional.  Lunch is free with a preorder sandwich included in cost of event.  There will be a no host bar at the tent after the tournament. 

Vice President Ray Ballantyne will be ordering flags for the Hole in Ones this year to be presented to the lucky few.  Also, if you want a certificate for shooting your age let him know and it will be available at the meeting as well. 

Team Captain Rob Bourns will be looking to set up a competition on September 16^th at another course due to ours being closed for punching the greens. 

The meeting was adjourned at 3:55 pm.

One last chuckle:   I shanked my drive on the first hole and the guy I was playing with looked at me straight faced and said, “shake it off, you had a bad lie” I almost pissed myself.
