President Bill Berry gave introductory comments thanking Richard Clendening for starting the Legends category for players over 80 years of age for our Senior Open. “We are so proud of these gentlemen and cherish their knowledge and energy they have shared with all of us”.

Treasurers report : Steve Collatz reported that the current membership was 198 vs 181 at this time in 2024.

Bank balance is $5131.94. Expenses last two months were: CAD $300 for Randy Gange Memorial, CAD $400 for Senior Championships, hole in one expenditure $101.24.

Upcoming expenditures are $300 for President's cup/trophy. $40.00 estimated to Peninsula Awards for Senior Championship name plates.

Rules Chairman Harry Phillips noted that the small USGA rules books were now $10 ea.

We need local rule definitions on our sand traps where the sand smoother machine enters each trap. Is sand that is pulled out of the trap by the machine treated as trap or not? Rules committee will decide asap. Could fall under “ground under repair”. During the Senior Open Jeff Jones drove his ball down the left side of the fairway. When he reached where his ball should have been in the deep rough it was discovered that the mower crew had cut his ball in half. The pieces were 6 feet apart. He asked his playing partners whether he could drop a ball equidistant from both halves. They all agreed. No penalty, play resumed, Rule 4.2c {C}. However, and this is important, if you find your ball has broken into two pieces ( vs being run over by a lawn mower), you must replay the stroke. This is found in Rule 4.2b. If you don’t replay the stroke under these circumstances, the General Penalty is applied (2 strokes). You have to use your

judgement as to whether there was a mower that caused the ball to be in two pieces or the ball just broke.

Competition Chairman Richard Clendening announced that Home and Home will be played at CAD next week.

Handicap Chairman Ron Grant announced that a medical exemption was given to one of our members as he had a debilitating condition that impeded his ability to play at his previous handicap level.

Don Flores will post a picture of our website on the Bulletin Board.

Russ Veenema showed the hole in one towel and optional Marker/Repair tool.

Rob Bourns is working on setting up more interclub matches.

Meeting was adjourned at 2:35 pm
