Sept 17th 2025 Men's Club Board Meeting

Subject: Minutes of Board Meeting September 17, 2025

Meeting was called to order by President Bill Berry at 2:39 pm

Motion to accept minutes of previous meeting approved

Present were, Bill Berry-President, Jim Jaqubino-Secretary/Historian, Steve Collatz – Treasurer, Ron Grant – Handicap Chairman, Harry Phillips – Rules Chairman, Richard Clendening- Competition Chairman, Robert Bourns – Team Captain, Don Flores – Wa Golf Rep

Absent was – Russ Veenema – Vice President

There were no guests present

There was a short discussion about whether or not a ball can be moved out of a divot under normal circumstances.  The rules do not allow for the ball to be moved unless we are playing preferred lies.

During Don Flores’ report, Bill Berry asked if we could add a picture of each member with their name to the membership list that is currently accessible only to members.  This would facilitate better recognition and memories of our fellow members.  (A suggestion given to Bill by Jac Osborn).  Don Flores said that if it were to be implemented, we could include a photo of a club member with their names.

Team Captain Robert Bournes talked about the ongoing ServPro event and how well it was organized.

Treasurer Steve Collatz announced that 2025 total membership was at 203 members as compared to 190 at last years end.

Bank balance is $3313.14 compared to last year $2786.00

August expenses were CAD $400 for Club Championship. Peninsula Awards, $32.07, Washington Golf, $312 for dues (8 at $39 each )

September expenses were CAD $400 for 7Cedars Cup.  Richard Clendening $97.92 for office supplies.

Competition Chairman Richard Clendening talked about perhaps the Serve Pro tourney going forward might be held on Friday and Saturday rather than Wednesday/Thursday.  Also, the Memorial Tourney will cost $20.00 and will include prize fund, lunch and gratuity and be held following the Tournament in the Legends Room.

The Memorial Tournament will be held on October 15^th and will coincide with our Men’s Club Annual Meeting.  The Board would like to thank Bill Berry and Steve Collatz for their years of service to the Board and Membership.  Thank you so much gentlemen for your years of dedicated service.

Their positions have been graciously filled by Ray Ballantine for VP and Bill Schless as Treasurer and Russ Veenema as President subject to approval by membership at annual meeting.  Thank you, gentlemen.
